Our Story

Cobnuts Woodland Nursery was set up by Carmen and Kat, two 'outstanding childminders' who wanted to bring as much of home life as possible into a nursery setting. The team efforts were rewarded when, on the nursery's first Ofsted inspection, we were awarded 'Outstanding in all areas'.

Our indoor setting is located within the Wealden Forest Park with easy access to our private outdoor camp at Bullockstone and many acres of ancient woodland around us. We have special ties to Curtis Wood and work closely with Canterbury City Council and Kent Wildlife Trust to maintain and improve the woodlands we play in.

As part of our daily life at Cobnuts we offer regular opportunities to take supported risks, appropriate to the environment and to themselves, through hands-on learning experiences in a natural and calm environment with a high adult to child ratio.

Cobnuts is proud to be a part of the Outdoor Learning Alliance, a group of local settings led by passionate providers. We meet regularly for training and idea sharing to enhance the qualtiy of provision in our settings.
